TRAINING

Canto to Provide Cumulus User Training During January's MacWorld Expo, San Francisco

TrainingCanto will offer two different user training classes this January. The dates are scheduled to coincide with the MacWorld event, making it a convenient time for out-of-town Cumulus fans to take advantage.

"The one thing we hear from users more than any other is that they want Cumulus training from Canto," explains Cumulus product expert David Diamond. "This is our first opportunity to do so in the new year, and we're thrilled to be doing it."

Diamond, considered Canto's workflow expert, gave presentations during the company's recent roadshows on the East Coast, and will also conduct this January's training in San Francisco. He is the author of the popular Exploring Cumulus series of documents and eNews PowerTips. Diamond also created and manages the marketing catalog Canto uses internally, which is available online as a Web client product tour.

Two different half-day classes are scheduled. Users are encouraged to attend both. The classes are:

Understanding Cumulus User and Catalog Preferences

This class will overview options found in the Cumulus preferences window, explaining the purpose and benefits of each. Though the class is useful for Cumulus users seeking to better understand the user preferences available to them, it's ideal for Cumulus catalog administrators who want to more fully understand the ins and outs of catalog set up.

Either way, if you open the Cumulus Preferences window and a giant question mark appears over your head, this class is for you!

Smart Practices for Cumulus-based Workflow Control

In this class, attendees will learn different ways in which Cumulus can enhance their workflows, and even help take their project management to a new level of efficiency. You think label fields are for rating assets? You think that formula fields are only for geeks? Think again!

Make the most of the software you have now by starting to use it in clever and creative ways you might not have thought of.

This class is not technical in nature, but it is best suited to those with some familiarity with Cumulus catalog setup.

SPECIAL OFFER! Some of the topics covered in the "Smart Practices" class are based on features found only in Cumulus Enterprise—or are they? Canto will have a surprise special offer for Workgroup attendees who see an Enterprise feature or two they can't live without. Come seeking knowledge, and you just might leave with the means to get the Cumulus system you always wanted!

Cumulus 7.5.2 will be used in both classes, though many of the topics will be applicable to older versions. Refreshments will be available.
