Quark Products Integration
No other digital asset management on Earth offers
such tight integration with Quark products. If your workflow relies on this
desktop publishing giant, Canto's Quark Integration products are a must-have.
QXP Companion appears in QuarkXPress
as a Cumulus menu from which you can open catalogs, catalog
assets and more.
QXP Companion
Serving as the heart of Canto's BrandAssistant,
QXP Companion provides existing Cumulus customers with water-tight
integration with QuarkXPress. The same catalogs and files
you use today become available right from a QuarkXPress palette
window. Search for the files you need right inside QuarkXPress
and drag the ones you want right into your layouts. When you're
ready, catalog the entire project back into Cumulus with a
single menu item. All files used in the layouts are cross-referenced,
ensuring you can easily find them later based on the projects
you've used them in.
Adding QXP Companion to a Cumulus Enterprise
installation extends it capabilities even further by enabling
the auto-cataloging of assets used within QuarkXPress layouts.
QXP Companion brings the same
asset relations power to your QuarkXPress files that you enjoy
with other file types. Here, a QuarkXPress document is shown
in the top pane. Below that, the various "Contained Pages"
in that document are shown. The bottom frame shows all of
the files referenced by the selected page.
When used with Cumlus Entperprise,
assets referenced in the QuarkXPress file can be cataloged
automatically when the QuarkXPress Project file is cataloged.
Here, a QuarkXPress layout is selected in the top pane. When
it was cataloged, all assets referenced by the layout, shown
below, were cataloged automatically at the same time.
QXPS Companion
QXPS Companion integrates Cumulus with the QuarkXPress Server to enable users to "deconstruct"
QuarkXPress projects into pages and elements that are cataloged
into Cumulus. Now, your archived layouts are no longer content
mysteries taking up drive space: Cumulus extracts the text they
contain and makes it searchable. Even better, on-the-fly rendering
of Cumulus-cataloged QuarkXPress projects into PDF format enables
users to take advantage of QuarkXPress-based archives even if
they don't have QuarkXPress. This is a huge benefit when offering
archives for online distribution.
