The communications team works remotely and has found Canto invaluable for bridging the distance and making their decades-old archives accessible to the whole organization.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NWS has thousands of photos and documents from throughout the academy’s history. With Canto, these files are now instantly accessible. This helps NWS tell the story of their work and impact through the decades.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“I want to make sure that we breathe new life into where we’ve been and who’s helped us get here. That means presenting our collection to the public as often as possible. Last year, SHACC revived the Follow the Light photography contest for emerging surf photographers and opened it to the global public. Previously, UCDA was using Flickr. UCDA decided to use a Canto portal instead, which gave them more flexibility to create a customized, branded interface and to organize the winning works by category.
