As we kick off 2020, we have to take a moment to appreciate the members of our team who made 2019 a killer year for Canto. Our financial analysis manager Tyler Jacks is, without a doubt, one of those people.

Hi Tyler! We appreciate how much you do for Canto. Tell us about everything you do in your role.
My primary role is to perform detailed financial analysis on the company’s global operations. The most important part of my job is to efficiently analyze our global data to provide clear and actionable insights to Canto’s upper management and board of directors. My role has grown so much over the past two years at Canto, and now I work with almost every department in the company.
I help create company-wide budgets and plans to evaluate our performance throughout the year. I help our marketing team develop new analytics and reporting for deeper insights and ROI analysis on their operations. I work with the account management team to ensure they have accurate data to keep our customers happy and utilizing our product as effectively as possible. I assist the sales team in streamlining and understanding their current processes to help deliver a sophisticated product to our customers. I work with management to ensure we are meeting our financial and operational goals and develop new metrics for tracking and reporting on these objectives throughout the year.
During your last 2 years at Canto, what has been your favorite project that you’ve worked on?
Creating cash-flow and valuation models from the ground up to get a more holistic understanding of our business and its operations. It’s been an incredible learning experience and is constantly evolving which always presents new challenges to solve!
What is the most impactful piece of career advice you’ve received?
Surround yourself with the smartest and most powerful people in the company to learn from both their successes and mistakes.
What do you enjoy most about working at Canto?
Having the opportunity to work with multiple departments across the company and around the world has given me profound insights to the inner workings of a global business, especially one growing as fast as Canto. My coworkers have also been awesome to work alongside and learn from every day!
What are your favorite sports and which teams do you support?
I enjoy watching all sports and especially love playing basketball, football and golf, and going skiing. For professional teams, I follow the Warriors, Giants, 49ers and the Nashville Predators.
What is your favorite Canto memory?
All of the company off-sites we have done over the past couple of years. We’ve been axe throwing, Go-Kart racing, visited the Exploratorium, gone to a Giants game and explored many different restaurants throughout the city. I can’t wait for our next adventures!
