At Canto, we have the pleasure of working with some of the most creative people across a wide range of industries. Seeing the beautiful, thought-provoking and innovative content they create with assets in Canto inspires us to keep doing our work, so we asked a few of our customers to tell us about what keeps them inspired!

Here’s what four creative directors had to say about staying inspired!
Mai Pham Le, Creative Director, HaaS School of Business, UC Berkeley

I have two young kids, and am constantly inspired by the innocence and uninhibited nature of their imagination. We have a ‘creative reuse’ box at home, where I put things that would otherwise be thrown away. I love seeing the creations that come out of that box. My kids remind the perfectionist in me to give myself room to stretch my creativity, even when it feels risky.

Angela Stiff, Creative Director, Copperwing

I’m continually inspired by the process of design and working with other designers. From the blank page with all of its possibilities to the details of executing the final product – I find it intriguing. I truly love working with creative people. Sharing ideas and shaping a design system with other designers keeps me energized.

Marlon Sharpe, Creative Director, Amtrak

I am inspired by practically everything that surrounds me in the day! I seize the day as an opportunity to create, as well as share ‘the gift’ I have been blessed with. For years, I have been a designer and creative director who tries to be more inventive in all I do – whether on the job or in my private time.

Azita Shahidi, Design Development Director, Godiva

I try to take in as much as I can – I look at everything, I read as much as possible, and listen to everything. I’ve found that inspiration comes to me more easily that way. Some people just look at design content, and they know a lot about design but nothing else. For me at least, I feel like I need more. From avant-garde art to food and drug packaging, I go for everything I can get my hands on.
