1.   Image Recognition and Auto Tagging Functionality

Adding metadata manually can be a long and painful task. It’s the reason why some organizations don’t manage all their assets in a DAM-system – the cataloguing and metadata additions just take too much time. The good news is, Cumulus can now take care of this for you.

Cumulus 11 ushers in the most intelligent digital asset management system ever. Image recognition, powered by artificial intelligence, takes your creative efforts to new heights with automatic tagging. Your team can upload images quicker and find them more easily.

It’s easy to get started with auto tagging in Cumulus. You just need to upload your files, hit the ‘Auto Keyword’ button and voila, all your images are tagged in the metadata. It’s that fast. And to make it even easier, we’ve included an automatic tagging scheduler so your auto tagging happens on a regular schedule. Your metadata quality will improve, searches will be more accurate and you’ll innovate creative content faster than ever.

Cumulus can support any number of tagging services, and for Cumulus 11 we’ve included two: EyeEm and Clarifai. These are top providers in image recognition, auto tagging and AI. So how do you get this new functionality in Cumulus? Auto tagging can be purchased and licensed as an addition to your Cumulus. It’s available now so talk to us about getting started.

2.   User Experience Enhancements (Web Client)

           a. Asset Navigation Enhancement

Cumulus 11 brings you a better overview for your catalogs, containers, files, search results, collections and baskets. Any file can be opened in a detail view, edit mode or as a preview. This makes your asset browsing faster and easier.

When you open a file, the details page displays controls that enable you to quickly navigate to the next, previous, first or last file in your given setting such as a basket, collection, search result, catalog or container. Now it’s more convenient to browse through a whole bunch of files without going back to the overview page. It’s just another way that Cumulus 11 streamlines your work processes and allows your team to focus on more innovative tasks.

            b. Improved Container Browsing

Navigating the Cumulus Web Client has never been easier with the Cumulus 11 release. The container tree is now located on the left side vertically along the side of your browser. This shows the available containers in a more familiar interface and comes with enhanced capabilities.
The display of the container tree can be opened with the new icon in the Web Client’s main menu. Just click on it and you’ll open up the categories on the left-hand side of your screen. Now you can select a container with a single click or open it with a double click. It’s that easy, and you can still use the search field at the top of the tree and you’ll find what you’re looking for even faster.

3.   Microsoft Office Connector

If you thought it couldn’t get any better, strap yourself in. Cumulus 11 lets you insert images right into your Microsoft Word or PowerPoint from your DAM. No more downloading, saving and uploading into your document or presentation. This new release streamlines your company processes by allowing you to grab the images and put them into Word and PowerPoint directly. Think of the countless hours this could save you.
Not only does this streamline your workflow, it also gives you a better overview of your content by delineating sizing, cropping and duplication as an admin. And the metadata stays available throughout modification and cataloging. This enables better collaboration and subsequently better, more consistent content.

4.   Streamlined Search Capabilities

Make searching within Cumulus even faster with enhanced search capabilities for your DAM. Our new integration with Solr (based on Lucene) boosts your searches by adding the power of distributed servers to Cumulus. Adding Solr to your Cumulus gives you more scalable content production through improved indexing and search functionality.
As an administrator, you can decide which fields are indexed and searched by Solr. It gives you the flexibility to do more focused indexing. It also helps facilitate lightning-fast searches for your users and cutting down on search time. Adding Solr to your Cumulus is optimal for large catalogs with extensive content.

5.   Portals Enhancements

Cumulus Portals is a powerful tool, which is why we want to make sure you can use it the way you want. Our search platform is changing and becoming more customizable. We worked on our URL concept and now all main pages in Portals are equipped with static URLs so you can embed them inside and outside of the application.

We also included deep link functionality to facilitate the integration of 3rd party applications/systems. Stateless filtering allows such systems to generate links (URLs) to certain predefined search queries in Portals. They will be visible in the Quicksearch box in Portals (and can be removed later).
